Each word is an entry, the more words you get, the higher your chances are at winning the weekly $1,000! Each time you hear a country code word, you’ll enter the word on this page below or open the 89.5 JR Country app and enter the word there.

Every Friday at 8am, Glen will announce the $1,000 winner!

Contest Rules

  • The “JR Chilliwack Country Codeword Cashout” contest (hereinafter: the “Contest”) for 2026 will start on Monday, February 23rd at 6:00am PT and run sporadically throughout 2026 with no designated start or end dates during each contest period.
  • This Contest is only open to legal residents of British Columbia, Canada, and who have reached the age of majority.  A contestant under nineteen (19) years of age or older must have a parent or guardian who is at least nineteen (19) years of age or older to claim any prize.
  • For the chance to play the Contest, you must listen for JR Country Codewords on 89.5 JR Country each day (including weekends) and enter the code words at 895jrcountry.ca or on the 89.5 JR Country App. Each correct code word entered is one entry into that week’s draw. Entries will reset each Thursday night.
  • The JR Chilliwack Country Codeword Cashout Prizes may change throughout the year, so keep listening and checking 895jrcountry.ca or the 89.5 JR Country App for the current prize details.
  • If a selected Contestant does not answer their phone, the phone goes to voice mail or if the telephone connection between the station and a caller is not clear, such that the announcer and/or caller cannot hear each other or the caller is disconnected, that caller may, in the sole discretion of the station host be disqualified and a new winner may be selected.
  • Winners will only be awarded their prize once eligibility is confirmed, and they have signed a prize release. Cash prizes will be awarded in the form of a cheque.
  • In addition to these Contest rules, Pattison Media’s general Contest Rules also apply.
  • All decisions of the Contest Organizers or those of their representatives regarding this Contest are final and binding.
