The Chilliwack Chiefs were back on home ice Friday night (Nov. 6, 2026) for the first time in over a month but fell 5-3 to the Langley Rivermen.
It was the first contest of a six-game homestand.
According to a game summary released by the Chiefs, Adam Boatter opened the scoring for Chilliwack in the first but Langley tied it up on the power play just under two minutes later, followed by another goal to take the lead just sixteen seconds after that.
The Rivermen scored their third of the game in the middle frame, taking a 3-1 lead.
The Chiefs power play got to work in the third with Luke Pilkington scoring his first of the season just ten seconds into the man advantage. Langley then took their two-goal lead back but Kristers Obuks countered for the Chiefs with one of his own.
In the end, an empty-netter by the Rivermen in the final 20 seconds sealed Langley’s win.
The Chiefs’ homestand continues Saturday night, November 7, against the Surrey Eagles for their Remembrance Day game. Retirement Concepts will be at the arena with some of their seniors and there will be a parachute cookie drop during the first intermission.
Friday night’s action saw the return of the fan-favourite bazooka gun. This time though, there was a bit of a twist. It was shot from the back of the units brought out onto the ice by Greater Vancouver Powersports.
