Wildfire near Spences Bridge now being held
CHILLIWACK — The wildfire that sprung up Friday (May 24) near Spences Bridge in the Fraser Canyon, is now listed as being held with no further growth expected.
In a social media post Saturday, the BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) says crews were able to get the upper hand on the blaze with the help of some cool and wet weather in the area.
Thanks to the work of #BCWildfire Service crews, aviation resources and support from cool, wet weather, this fire is now Being Held. That means it is not projected to spread beyond current control lines. Crews will continue to monitor and patrol for hotspots over the coming days.
