FVHCF holding “It’s a Wonderful Breakfast” Nov. 23 at Coast Hotel Chilliwack
CHILLIWACK — It can be the most wonderful time of the year when people consider those less fortunate during the Christmas season, especially those who are hospitalized in Chilliwack or Abbotsford.
The Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation will be collecting toys and toiletries at this year’s “It’s a Wonderful Breakfast” to give children and young adults in the hospital over the Christmas holiday season some joy and brightness. The sit-down buffet breakfast happens Thursday, November 23 from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Coast Hotel Chilliwack, 45920 First Avenue.
The foundation invites the community to bring any of the items from their wish list: Check our wish list here.
Their wish list for babies and toddlers consists of things like toy phones, stackable cups and blocks, pop up toys, wooden toys, things that light up or make noise, Discovery Toys, infant rattles and musical toys.
For children and youth, they’d love to have items like puzzles, small Lego sets, Fisher Price Little People sets, Hot Wheels, toy trains, books, assorted sized rubber balls, crayons, coloring pencils, craft kids, general craft supplies, individual bubbles, Playdoh and modeling clay.
For all ages, new socks, toques, mittens, hairbrushes, combs, elastics, travel kits, shaving kits, razor packs, nail polish, shower loofahs, face cloth and towelette packs, and jogging pants and sweatshirts sure come in handy.
For those slightly creative and adventurous, passes for activities like bowling, cinema, swimming, ice skating, water park, aquarium, zoo, Castle Fun Park, corn mazes and other seasonal activities make for a nice surprise.
Any of these items can be dropped off at the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation offices in Chilliwack (Chilliwack General Hospital), Abbotsford or Mission. Visit fvhcf.ca for more information on the foundation and its exemplary community initiatives.
