CHILLIWACK – Two people were transported to hospital with serious injuries after a crash on Highway 1 in Chilliwack Friday afternoon.

Chilliwack Fire crews, Chilliwack RCMP and BC Emergency Health Services paramedics were called to the area of Highway 1 and Prest Road at about 4:30 p.m. Friday.

The on-ramp to eastbound Highway 1 at Prest Road was closed shortly after the crash, according to a social media post from Emil Anderson Maintenance.

A BC EHS spokesperson told Fraser Valley Today that two ambulances with primary care paramedics and one ambulance with advanced care paramedics responded to the scene. Paramedics provided emergency medical treatment to two patients who were transported to hospital in serious but stable condition.

Fraser Valley Today has contacted the Chilliwack RCMP detachment for information on the crash.
