MISSION — One inmate had been assaulted at Mission Institution last week, on March 8th.
Correctional Service Canada (CSC) said Thursday (Mar. 13) that an inmate was injured following an assault at the medium-security prison. The victim was then taken to an outside hospital for treatment.
“The assailant has been identified and the appropriate actions have been taken,” said the CSC in a release Thursday (Mar. 13).
No staff members or other inmates were injured during this incident.
Mission RCMP and the institution are now investigating. The Correctional Service of Canada will review the incident and take appropriate measures to prevent similar events from happening in the future.
