The Chilliwack Chiefs are proud to announce that 20-year old forward Carter Anderson has landed a commitment with Canisius in the NCAA Division 1. Anderson comes from Thompson, Manitoba and joined the Chiefs this season after beginning the season with the Flin Flon Bombers in the SJHL. With the Bombers, he registered an impressive 83 points in just 58 games played over parts of two seasons. Anderson has been a welcome addition to the Chiefs both with his veteran presence and offensive abilities.
“It is great to see Carter get rewarded with an NCAA scholarship.” Said Chiefs Head Coach and GM Brian Maloney. “Prior to coming to Chilliwack and the BCHL he was not receiving the same level of interest and exposure that he has of late. Now that he is here people are noticing him and have been really impressed with the things that he has brought to our team.”
“I’m beyond excited and honored to announce my commitment to play division 1 hockey at Canisius University Athletics.” Anderson said, “Committing to this opportunity is a chance to grow, challenge myself, and contribute in meaningful ways. I want to express my gratitude to all my coaches, teammates, friends, and especially my family, as well as to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Can’t wait to see what the future holds. #gogriffs”
Congratulations, Carter!
