Chilliwack Tulip Festival canceled this year after weather-related damage
CHILLIWACK — For the second year in a row, a local flower fest has issued an unexpected closure of its nearly two-million tulip field in Greendale.
In a post on Tuesday, April 2, the Botanica Flower Festival shared that adverse weather events damaged a portion of the field and rendered it unfit for viewing.
“We strongly believe in delivering value for your money, and this year, after careful consideration, we felt that this would be less than the full experience you deserve,” wrote the organizers.
Those with pre-purchased tickets will be refunded within seven to 10 days from the time of the post. Private U-pick events will also be going forward throughout the season.
The festival at 41310 Royalwood Drive was tentatively set for spring 2025.
Anyone hoping to frolick in a Fraser Valley tulip field could still catch one only half an hour away, at the Harrison Tulip Festival starting mid-April.
