Assault in downtown Chilliwack sends one to hospital: RCMP
CHILLIWACK — Chilliwack RCMP say one man has been hospitalized after police were called to the area of Yale Road and Williams Street for the report of an assault in progress with a possible weapon overnight.
According to a news release from the Chilliwack RCMP media relations unit, police say one person is custody from an assault in which police responded just after midnight on Thursday, August 1. Officers found a man who had been physically assaulted and sustained serious injuries. He was later transported to hospital by ambulance.
The news release said Chilliwack RCMP members quickly identified and arrested a suspect at the scene, and he remains in custody.
