Family of missing Abbotsford man makes heartfelt plea to locate him, as police say leads have run dry

ABBOTSFORD — An Abbotsford Police Department spokesperson says it has no new information in the search for a 27-year-old Abbotsford man who vanished without much of a trace, other than a sighting along Highway 11.

According to an update Wednesday (May 1) from Constable Jody Thomas, spokesperson for the AbbyPD, police say they have no new updates as family and friends have not given up in their quest to locate Wesley Bosman.

Police have confirmed Wesley Bosman was seen on Highway 11, just north of Hazelwood Avenue. Investigators are asking the public for any dashcam video that may have been captured Tuesday, April 23 from 3 a.m. to 5 a.m. along Highway 11, between Hazelwood Avenue and the Mission bridge.

In the meantime, tips and leads alerting police to any possible sightings have run dry.

“Sadly, we have no update,” Constable Thomas said. “We also have no new information that has given us any leads. The family is still organizing searches and posting posters. They give updates in their Facebook group. Thanks for giving this attention.”

Late last week, the Abbotsford Police Department said it had exhausted multiple options in their search for Bosman, including use of an air search, police dog, search and rescue (Abbotsford-based Central Fraser Valley Search and Rescue) and traced Wesley Bosman’s accounts, but to no avail.

“We are still very actively searching for the missing 27-year-old, Wesley Bosman,” Cst. Thomas said in an email Thursday, April 25. “Wesley’s disappearance is completely out of character. Wesley left the house leaving his personal belongings behind, but the family is adamant he does not suffer from depression and are lost as to where he could be.”

Bosman’s family made an emotional plea on the Find Wesley Bosman Facebook page this week, including an appeal from his sister, Alex, and his brother, Daniel.

“It’s been an agonizing, emotional 8 days since their brother left home without a trace,” Linda Corscadden wrote on the Facebook page dedicated to finding Bosman. “Wes’ brother Daniel, and sister Alex have a message to Wes. Wes, if you can see this, YOU are so loved. Your family is NOT complete without you. Please come home.”

Alex said she wants to play Uno with her brother Wesley, admitting that life isn’t the same without him there, while Daniel said he loves his brother and wants him home ASAP.

“Wes, I don’t know where you are or what you’re dealing with, but I just want you to know that I love you and I want you home as soon as possible,” Daniel Bosman said. “And I hope you come home soon because we have a lot of fish to catch this summer.”

Bosman is described as Caucasian, 6’2″, 120 pounds, with short, dark blonde hair, an orange-brown moustache and traces of a beard. He was last seen wearing a black long-sleeve shirt and navy-blue jogging pants.
