Man inside a motorhome makes comments about using gun, prompts ERT response in Mission
MISSION — A 33-year-old man living inside a motorhome on Teal Street in Mission made questionable comments about using an illegal handgun, prompting the response of the Lower Mainland Emergency Response Team earlier this month.
According to a statement from Mission RCMP spokesperson Corporal Harrison Mohr, Mounties in Mission received a report on Tuesday, April 9 about a male residing in a motorhome parked on Teal Street. Police became aware that the male suspect possessed an illegal handgun and intended to possibly use it.
Corporal Mohr says a search warrant was granted to police, and due to the nature of the call, the Lower Mainland Integrated Emergency Response Team attended to help resolve the matter with police. The search warrant was executed successfully, and a male and female from inside the motorhome were safely taken into custody.
During a search of the motorhome, officers located a loaded 3D-printed handgun in addition to a bulletproof vest. Numerous charges have been recommended against a 33-year-old man from Mission, who has not been identified and won’t until charges are filed by Crown.
