Chiefs Sign UMass commit Jordan Geike
The Chilliwack Chiefs are pleased to announce the signing of
University of Massachusetts commit Jordan Geike.
The 2006-born forward will join the Chiefs after playing 31 games for the Sioux Falls Stampede of the USHL this season.
Geike was acquired after it was confirmed that Tyler Pretty would be sidelined for the rest of the season due to injury.
“It’s very unfortunate for our team and especially Tyler that he quite literally received a bad break. He had surgery yesterday and will be out for the remainder of the season,” said General Manager and Head Coach Brian Maloney. “With that injury, we needed another good young prospect to help us in our playoff push.”
Last season, Geike played with the North Jersey Avalanche 16U AAA team. He scored 57 goals and 69 assists for 126 points in 84 games.
“With Jordan, we’re adding a second 2006-born player to the roster. His youth and experience playing in the USHL, both on the wing and in the centre position, makes him a versatile forward with even more potential growth in his game,” said Maloney. “We’re excited to be a part of his development and help him prepare for UMass.”
Welcome to the Chiefs family, Jordan!
