Access restricted at Abbotsford Regional Hospital Thursday night
ABBOTSFORD — There is little information being released about an unusual situation at Abbotsford Regional Hospital Thursday (Jan. 4) evening.
There was a heavy police presence at the hospital through most of the evening. Witnesses also reported seeing personnel from Corrections Canada at the hospital.
Fraser Health Authority (FHA) has confirmed the hospital was on restricted access for approximately four hours Thursday evening. In an email to FraserValleyToday.ca, FHA says patient care at the hospital was not affected. Access to the hospital has returned to normal.
Global News is reporting inmates were taken to the hospital as a result of a series of stabbings.
Inquiries to Abbotsford Police and Corrections Canada have been made but no information has been released.
