ABBOTSFORD — Correctional Service Canada says a man who was serving a 6-year prison term for gun-related offences has died at an Abbotsford prison.
On Thursday, December 28, inmate Mike Andrew Arcand died at Pacific Institution while in custody. At the time of his death, the inmate had been serving a sentence of six years for discharging a firearm with intent, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, since May 24, 2019.
The next of kin have been notified about Arcand’s sudden passing.
Anytime an inmate dies in custody, CSC reviews the circumstances and notifies local police and the coroners service accordingly.
